About the role:
As an AML Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in detecting, analyzing, and mitigating financial crimes. You will work with advanced data analytics tools to identify suspicious activities, support compliance efforts, and enhance risk management strategies.
- AML Compliance – Monitor transactions and financial activities to identify suspicious patterns.
- Data Analysis – Use analytical tools to detect fraudulent activities, money laundering schemes, and financial anomalies.
- Risk Assessment – Evaluate customer and transaction risk using predefined risk models.
- Regulatory Reporting – Prepare detailed reports and escalate potential risks to compliance teams.
- Investigations – Collaborate with compliance officers to conduct thorough investigations on flagged transactions.
- Machine Learning & AI – Work with AI-powered analytics tools to improve detection accuracy.
- Process Improvement – Develop strategies to optimize data monitoring and fraud detection processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with compliance, finance, and IT teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience in AML (Anti-Money Laundering), compliance, or financial fraud detection.
Proficiency in data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, or Excel.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance frameworks (FATF, FinCEN, AMLD, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work with large datasets and detect anomalies in financial transactions.
Familiarity with machine learning and AI-based fraud detection tools is a plus.
